Tucked away off the beaten track at the base of Mt. Hood lies the Upper Sandy River. With plenty of exciting rapids and incredible scenery, this river is a perfect destination for a spring rafting trip when the rivers swell with snowmelt.
We meet only 45 minutes from downtown Portland in Sandy, OR. Despite being so close to Portland, we rarely see anyone else on the river except a few people out fishing. The rapids won’t disappoint including the incredible Alder Creek Rapid where the river plunges 10ft. in an incredible flume ride.

All Upper Sandy River half day trips meet at the Barlow Wayside Park. The park is located just off Hwy. 26 about 11 miles east of Sandy, OR. You can change here and leave dry clothes in your vehicle. Once done changing, we will gather at the launch area and Blue Sky will outfit everyone with a life jacket, paddle and a helmet (if requested). Before we launch, guides provide a safety talk as well as explain how to ride and paddle in the raft.
