The North Santiam River is a great summer rafting trip and is within easy reach of the Portland metro area.
OVERVIEW
Close to both Portland and Salem, the North Santiam River offers plenty of beginner rapids and consistent water flows. It is a wonderful beginner rafting trip. Some of our warmest weather trips are on the North Santiam because of its year-round season. Late summer trips are characterized by lots of water fights, rock jumping and surfing separated by relaxing floating.
Our North Santiam River half day trips meets at Mill City Park. The site is located just off Hwy. 22 in Mill City, Oregon. You can change here and leave dry clothes in your vehicle. Once done changing, we will proceed upstream to the launch area and Blue Sky will outfit everyone with a life jacket, paddle and a helmet (if requested). Before we launch, guides provide a safety talk as well as explain how to ride and paddle in the raft.
